Good catch, I never noticed that until you brought it up. Wonder why Breitling chose to do that on the re-issue?

Great shot!

Been wearing this non stop...Loce the factory leather, but I’m especially loving it on this comfortable mesh Crown and Buckle strap (Tudor BB style strap)!

It should be on the back of it.

While awaiting the reply, my thoughts are the polished pilot bracelet. Model 375A, I believe.

If my memory is correct the Breitling Pilot bracelet has five links, the bracelet shown has 7 links which would make it from the Navitimer family, although I am not sure of the model number.

I just joined the club, woohoo

Talk about sheer luck - I wanted this ref. ever since it was announced at Baselworld 2019 but when they finally arrived late last year I wasn't able to source one (locally).

I gave up but was happy to hear about the AVI Ref. 765 1953 for 2020. Then came COVID-19 & the subsequent lockup... .

Yesterday, I finally found the time to visit the city-center for the first time since its reopening. As usual, I strolled by all the ADs' displays to have a quick look-see. Nothing new (sigh) but understandable, given the global situation. At the very last AD, I did a double-take; "wait-what... could it really be..."

Last but certainly not least - my sincere appreciation goes out to the meister vintage-Breitling collector "WATCHFRED" (Fred M.) & of course Breitling for making the Ref. 806 Re-Edition possible

When I buy a watch, it's almost always locally so that I can personally check everything out. Among other things, I always verify that the hour and minute hands align at 12:00. For chronographs, I check that upon reset the subdial hands return to "zero" etc.

As this is my first Navitimer, I neglected to check the slide-rule alignment. I checked it now and it's not the best... . Looking at the Breitling's own marketing pics, alignment is near-perfect (but still just slightly off between 13~15).

For those of you with this & other Navitimers, what should an owner expect in terms of alignment tolerances? In all honesty, I'll never use the watch for calculations but my OCD is (unfortunately) always on standby...

Doing some simple math with it... 10.5 * 60 = 627...

Should be easy to source one, my AD has a RG one sitting in the case for the past couple of months now.

It's not "Breitling" that's complicated, rather the Navitimer (or Cosmonaut or Chronomat).

Back in the day (in this case, we're talking about 1942 for the Chronomat), no one had an iPhone. No one had an electronic calculator. Of course we can assume every pilot had an own circular slide rule, but having it on the wrist presented them with quick and constant access to the info.

The Navitimer is a perfect example of a tool watch...

p.s. Thanks

I got one the day before Christmas last year. I have not worn it at all…I’m not sure why I cannot bond with it as I have always been a big Breitling fan. Ah well, maybe I will grow to like it over time.

I felt like that when I first got mine but after giving a day or two of dedicated wrist time it rapidly ran its way to the top of my list.

Has anyone seen an 806 at an AD lately? My AD has a gold version in the case but no SS ones.

Yes, I did - but only by sheer luck (see below). Regarding the gold ones, every AD in my area has one in stock... it's a lot of money and they won't be moving as quickly as the SS did
