Some Tokyo secondary market prices.

Im in tokyo for Chinese new year and have been visiting each rolex store that i pass. Prices in yen pre-tax for foreign buyers. Tokyo is great fun.

Some stores like BIC Camera even have a rolex section. The 24 hour mega Don Quijote does too!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. The price on that LV was about the cheapest I have seen here lately.

I forgot that Don Quijote has Rolex! That Red Grape OP 39 is seriously cheap at 442,000 Yen.

How do prices compare generally?

Are they reasonable or more than you would pay at home?

Was just wondering whether a trip might be worthwhile seeing as most models seem to be readily available ....

Prices are a little higher than elsewhere but there is plenty of availability. The 16710 GMT2 for example is very hard to find in HK or London, and yet there must be hundreds here. The z serial 2007 3185 is about $14,500!

Tokyo is just an amazing place for watch hunting. Such a wide array of choices and pricing. Have always wondered how they would value and price the watches they sell.
Either way, really need to up the digging skills for a good bargain.

Prices were much better when I visited in 2015... in terms of availability and variety on 2nd hand market, Tokyo is 2nd to none.

So much for supply and demand dictating price..

They have tons of watches at huge prices...

Why buy?

I wouldn't say stay there, but Nakano has a lot of watch shops, not necessarily the cheapest but good for a look.

Like most places, prices have gone up recently. There is 0% import duty on watches I believe so in theory the prices should be competitive as they can be imported from wherever is cheapest.

Oh man I was in Nakano in January, visited some 2nd hand stores and the famous Jack Road. Really interesting I wish I have a deep pocket lol. I do agree some pieces priced on the high side but the options are endless!

Will go to Tokyo soon again for work, will try to take some pics this time. Last time I only managed to took some pics of the speedys
