Unfortunately masculinity has gone to the wayside and we are now in the snowflake generation of men. For many men, their wives also double as their mommies.

Just amazes me 5 pages on sticky back plastic, how today's Rolex watch owners have changed over the past 10 years or so.I sometimes wonder why some buy one of the toughest mechanical watches made today, thats made from the toughest materials perhaps just to wear the name on the dial.

If I'm not mistaken I believe the idea started from a member here in the forums. I recall a thread asking thoughts on this product when it was being developed. Not something I would use but interesting nonetheless .

We couldn't put a piece of plastic on ours because of the ice built up on the case, which didn't really matter because most of our fingers were missing from frostbite. And that was just to get a bloody Datejust. My god what we had to go through to get a Submariner......I still have nightmares about it ............the Mariana Trench.........the sharks..... But those were the days..... These kids today............don't get me started......we had stubble on our faces because we'd lost our knives, not because we were too lazy to shave.......I told ya....don't get me started.... |

And why do you wake up in recovery, with no memory, and pieces of confetti in your bed and covered in strange perfume. And some woman wandering around offering cookies and fruit juice with a grinning "knowing" look on her face. My theory, and so far it's just a theory, is that they rent you out as a pinata for kids birthday parties and then rush you back to the hospital covered in bruises. |

Even though I'm only in my 30s, I feel like a grumpy old man when I see this stuff.
I understand that it makes no difference to me and I don't really care, but this new generation of Rolex owners is the worst.

In the last 25 years it's been perfected to an art form from the internet, social media AND the media. At one time the news came on at night for an hour. Now it's all day long and news/entertainment blended and the name of the game is ratings/money. So everything now is about making people afraid or making them angry or both. I'm really not seeing how we come back from it. In the one instance it's about money, and in the social media sphere, kids grew up with it and the instances of bullying/body shaming/slut shaming is rampant. The adults have left the room or there are no more adults period. Playing gotcha for money, and trolling for perverse fun is the new world we live in. |

What's financial situation have to do with this? Some people don't like scratches I don't think money has anything to do with it. And wrapping or stickering a watch is useless but more useful then a car, a Rolex can cost as much or more then a car and doesn't lose its value like a car, anyways

To be honest, I own several watches.. one of them, my first watch that costed over 4k, is a panerai pam088. after 13 years it has many scratches.. Doesn't hurt me. Recently I purchased my first Rolex SD 43mm anniversary. it is my first watch with bracelet. I have already a few scratches on it :P. However I purchased stickers to apply on the bracelet clasp only as it's the main vulnerable part. I don't find it a bad idea to try to minimize the scratches on your watch. I am crazy with everything I own, trying to preserve them in the best possible condition.. from sneakers collection (got around 700 pairs), I wear them, no protective shield there, but eg: not wearing particular pairs on rainy days.. or I won't wear them when I go to a gig. In my opinion trying to preserve your assets in a good condition is not a bad idea at all. Someone said here that only people who can't really afford rolex are putting stickers on them. I would say that only people who actually value and have true love about their watches (or anything else) want to protect them while using them. If this involves a few sticker applications then that's fine.

Watch stickers should be illegal. I’m writing my congressman now.

Is that a typo, or do you really mean you have 700 pairs of sneakers ? Got to share a photo of that collection!

What's funny is if you click the original link and then go to the comments section in the "articles" 100% of the comments are flaming this. It's hilarious!
