Hornet-C At the time I was TAD to VFA 80 off the Saratoga and flew second wing to Mark Fox, who fired an AIM-9L at a Fishbed, head-on at 7 miles, then an AIM 7 a few seconds later; both hit. Splash One! I had the loudest growl in my headset I had ever heard when I called “Fox Two” and pulled the trigger. PM me for the details to find out the reason there was no Bully Bully call, I’m too embarrassed to write it in a public forum.
