Double Oh! Oh! Omega Quantum of Solace

I just picked up a few weeks back the Omega Planet Ocean Quantum of Solace Limited Edition Watch from a fellow WIS. You don't know how difficult it was to box up my PO 45.5 Black w/Orange Numbers to swap for the QOS. But when the box arrived, I had completed one of my best transactions ever! I am not only a PO lover, but since a child a BIG James Bond fan. Thus, the QOS was the perfect addition to the family. I love the texture of the watch face fashioned after the famous Walter PPK grip on 007's weapon of choice. The Silver numbers really sit well on the Black Face. I did not know if I'd like the laser engraved crystal w/QOS, but found it to be very subtle. It is only noticeable at certain angles. Well, now for the pics as I enjoy a Martini...shaken not stirred!

Very nice! Congratulations.

I really like the additional "limited series" card.....will make for interesting discussion many years from now.

They finally figured out how to make a promo watch without turning it into a billboard. I like the dial it looks really sweet with that texture.

Congrats

Very cool, I agree that it is the nicest Bond watch and the special box and cardholder are a nice touch...in a few minutes I'll be wearing my regular PO to a martini party where my buddy and I are going to mix "vesper" martinis!

Where did you find the Lillet Blanc? I didn't think they'd produced that since the 60's. I do have to agree that I prefer mine with gin and a bit of vodka and defintely prefer the thin slice of lemon peel, esp. after it's been sitting in the bottom of the glass for a while.

I'm not sure...my friend brought it. He had had it for awhile as it was about half gone. I will try to find out and PM you if you would like. Although I am somewhat forgetful with things like this

My mistake, I looked up the original recipe from Fleming and it is Kina Lillet that I was thinking of. Lillet blanc is the current substitute but is said not to have that bitter edge of Kina Lillet. Since I've never had Kina Lillet, I wonder if a dash of some Angastora bitters will give it that taste? Or will it ruin an already clean tasting drink?

And to refer back to the original topic, I love the QOS PO best of all... esp. the Walther grip pattern face. I'd like to see one close up.

The QoS version gets my vote. Looks like you got a good example there. Enjoy.
