Hi all,

Lately I have considered a major change in the collection and that means selling some watches to fund an AP, my fav have always been this

But now I have started tol REALLY dig the AP diver, I think it look great and the size is slightly smaller if I am not incorrect...

For you have owned both, which is your favorite and why? and please post pics if you have...

AP diver is an awesome watch, but I will get the ROO first then diver would be my second AP. that's my 5 cents input, either one you won't be disappointed. Good luck.

Martin,

Both models are great in their way, Myself wouldn't go for the RC as a first AP as it only looks good on the rubber strap.
Another ROO or the Diver would look great on almost any strap combo.

I had the RC but t didn't last long with me - The Diver is such a superbly finished watch and feels fantastic on the wrist. I am consistently memorised by the dial. Nothing else is getting near my wrist at the moment...

Anyone put a Diver on a black hornback strap? I'd love to see that!!!

I would recommend getting a SS ROO as your first ROO. Once you have that one, then you should think of adding the Diver to the collection.

Materkiller, min vän, it seems like your tastes are maturing and getting more refinined! :-) Once you try AP it is a slippery slope... the level of finished is superlative and definitely a division higher than your Submariner (hence, I'm not saying it is a better, more robust or more practical watch).

The first order of the day is to try on the watches. The flat backs of the ROO cases fit a lot different than the Royal Oak line, not to say your regular sport Rolex. Also, the ROO Diver has a much less tapering rubber strap, i.e very wide, which may or may not be to your preference or comfort. While I loved the design of my ROO Diver, I had a hard time to get it to wear comfortably on my (7 1/4) wrist, because the anatomy of my wrist etc.

Also, the ROO RC or Diver is a modern man's watch. It is nothing soft or intellectual about it, it is transpires modernism, elegance, confidence and design savoir-faire. It displays a lot of metal and it is not a inconspicuous piece by any stretch.

Lastly, I've made this point before so everyone is bored of it but one last time: I don't really see this as a dive or tool/instrument watch, even if it fulfills ISO standard for a dive watch, but it is much more of a superlative luxury sport watch. $18,000 for a watch without complications (OK, date) and on a rubber-strap is a lot, regardless and with the level of finishing you have on this watch, it is one I would hesitate to wear while cliff-diving on the Swedish West Coast. My Rolex diver, on the other hand, goes with me everywhere, no questions asked.

Net/net: try it out and see which sings to you. The quintessential Royal Oak Offshores are the chronographs, but I really, really like the clean and simple look of the ROO Diver. It is one of the few watches I actually would consider buying back sometimes in the future (more depending on which direction the collection takes).

Lastly, I'd sell everything else to fund the AP, hold on to the Sub - that is simply the most timeless sport/tool watch you can own! :-)

I had to sell mine and I miss it a lot.

Of the 6 watches I sold it is the only one I would buy back.

I think that sums up how I feel about very well.
