Anyone have this problem?

Its clearly posted, they ring the bell, dog goes crazy and they go into their spiel. Not Cool!

A lot of people in the uk would struggle to understand the word, such has been the dumbing down of people here.

Huge problem in my neighborhood. The signs at both entrances say it but they can’t read I guess.

Perhaps they thought it meant prostitution.

And not Girl Scout cookies, siding, lawn services, maid service, roofing, soccer team and saving your wretched soul from eternal damnation.

That's not soliciting, that's doing you a favor.

Just spitballin' here......

Just don't answer the door. It's your house. They eventually go away.

Sometimes I supplement my sign with one that says "No Trespassing." That usually works. If not, I ask to see the permit that my city requires of all door to door salespeople. They don't have one 99% of the time. I don't think the local law applies to non-profits or political campaigners unfortunately.

I'm going to open the door in the buff next time!

I will not apologize If you are a door-to-door sales person or if you think I'm a grouch. It just makes me mad that sales people come to my door. They make my dog made too!

I've never had a prostitute on my doorstep ringing my door bell maybe No Soliciting is working.

Do you also have a wireline phone?
Do you answer it?

Why do you still have a working doorbell?
Pull off one of the wires and reinstall it just to have fun with them.

Get rid of the sign and put in a Ring doorbell on there and yell, “Get Off My Doorstep” in your best Clint Eastwood voice.

An electric fence for your pup (Boxer too, if I recall) will solve this (and many other) problem(s).

Your sign is too close to the door. They are already in your face by the time they read it.

Move the sign to the end of the walk so that they pass you by. You can add this one for emphasis.

They've fallen out of favor in recent centuries, but I've always liked the idea of a mote and drawbridge.

Toss one or two to Koda on the way to the door, if you would like to try for this Larry.

I get them from time to time. One recently asked me, "Are you in a huge rush, I don't understand why you aren't considering our services". The service was not an exterminator, but someone that could "get rid of the spiderwebs in my entryway, and treat the lawn"... Whatever that means...

me, "I'm not interested." "but, but....."

It's hard to stay polite, they consume my time and invade my privacy. Hate them.

I'm fine with neighbourhood kids doing a fundraiser for a sports club or something. I always support that.

I feel your pain. My "No Soliciting" sign is very easily seen from the sidewalk, as it is mounted right on my front door.

On my days off I usually have my kiddo (2 year old) and it seems like someone rings the dang doorbell selling something right about 30 minutes after I put him down for a nap. Even if he sleeps through the door bell, the barking dog usually wakes him up.

Miss the days when I had my Alaskan Malamute, everyone thought she was a wolf and never came anywhere near my house.

Don't get many, but recently they slipped a letter under my door.

It was addressed to me by name and mentioned that they had stopped by several times and I wasn't home.

Also mentioned a bunch of stuff about "salvation" and how they had the answers that would save me....
