My AP 15450 stopped working. Then started working again.

Title basically says it all.
I stopped the watch one night because it goes a little bit too fast. When I was going to screw the crown in, the date suddenly changed two days ahead. Some time after that, the watch completely stopped. I put it away for a couple of months, but due to covid, I can't go to Sweden to have it serviced right now. I tried the watch today, and it suddenly works again. Date change was fine. Winding it went fine.

Any idea why this happened? Would it be wise not to use it? It is under warranty, so I would definately have to take it to the store if it stops again.

Thanks,

no idea what exactly the issue could be, but i had a similar issue last year. my watch would stop running for a bit, if i shook it it would start up for a bit then stop. then one day it wouldn’t start up again. ended up sending it to service after the second time it happened or something like that, they got it serviced and back to me pretty quickly and haven’t had that issue again since

This is a concerning this to read about AP pieces! Did AP say anything after performing service about why this occurred?

if i remember correctly when i asked them what was wrong they said they just did a regular service and didn’t notice anything wrong with it. i was also surprised to run into the problem after just a little over two years of daily use, but at least they took care of it pretty quickly (much faster than they originally told me it would take) and covered under warranty. so while the issue itself sucked, i was happy with how it was handled

Thanks for the reply!
While I literally can use my Rolex GMT-master as a baseball bat and a bottle opener, AP seems rather fragile. I might just keep using it, since it's still under warranty. What sucks is that there is no AP AD in my country...

yea that’s unfortunate, also have no AD in my city, closest one is like 7hr drive away, but when i shipped it out for service it went straight to clearwater anyways not to the AD, so it’d probably be similar for you but in europe. i’m still using mine, wear it basically every single day, i think i’ve only worn my other watch like 4 days total since i got this back last year? i still think it’s a solid daily, but i do think you’re right that it is more fragile than rolex. hopefully you can get it sorted soon!
