Limited Edition Writing Instruments?

Nothing to post here but I've been looking around; pretty impressed by the number of Limited Edition pens that MB offers. I was wondering how many of the collectors here own limited edition pens? I'm smitten by the Jonathan Swift model as I was once an English major and loved him. I'd lot to see what people have in their arsenals.

I have a few limited editions but far more one offs. Only one MB limited edition though and it's a Dumas (correct signature) fountain pen. But I do have a few maki-e fountain pens that are each a unique work of art.

I also have some limited editions from European makers like Montegrappa and US makers like Sheaffer.

The Hemingway and the Dumas are the only MB LEs that I know of that were based on the 139.

Another of my favorites: A Danitrio Sho-Hakkaku Ancient Flowers by Koichiro Okazaki:

There is a whole host of Japanese and Asian folk tales that are as familiar to children there as the Three Little Pigs or Crying Wolf or Jack & the Beanstalk.

One is "The tongue Cut Swallow".

Once there was a kindly old man and his wife but they were very poor. To try to make ends meet the old man could cut bamboo and sell it to bring in enough money for them to get fed. One day while cutting bamboo he found a little swallow with an injured wing. He brought it home and fed it moist rice until it was health and hopping around. He needed to go back out and cut more bamboo and so told his wife to watch over the little thing and take care of it.

Now his wife was not as kindly as the old man and she hated the sparrow since it got to eat a little of their meager supply of rice so she grabbed the little bird, cut off part of its tongue and threw it out of the window.

When the old man came home she told him that when she tried to feed the bird the horrid thing bit her and flew away.

The old man was devastated and immediately went back out to try to find it.

As the daylight began to fade the old man heard birds chirping in a bamboo thicket near a plum tree. When he looked it was a whole family of sparrows and they all recognized the old man and thanked him for taking care of the little sparrow. Then they said they wanted to reward him and flitted down onto two chests; one tiny while the other was huge. Take whichever you want the birds said.

Since he really felt like he didn't do much he chose the smaller chest and thanking the sparrows headed back home. When he told his wife what had happened she immediately opened the chest which was filled with gold and jewels and pearls of great size.

"Why did you take just this tiny chest", she cried; "You are such a fool".

Off she went straight into the bamboo forest and straight to the thicket near the plum tree where she grabbed the huge chest and headed home. Half way home she had to see how much wealth she had and if it would be enough for her to leave the old man and move to the city, so she opened. And it was filled with demons and ogres and Oni that set upon her. Terrified she ran away never to be seen again while the kindly old man and the sparrows lived a quiet life.

So after all that, here is another fountain pen based on the Tale of the Tongue Cut Sparrow. You can see the plum blossoms and the sparrows on the bamboo.

Limited Edition Writing Instruments?

Here is one I received yesterday. I'm starting to bond with it already. The quality of the ink line seems to be paper dependent. On an old note book I have it seemed to stutter. On a much newer book not so. Much different papers.

Limited Edition Writing Instruments?

OK, this addiction is seriously out of control. Here is another Limited Edition pen which I received this past week. IMHO it's the most beautiful pen I've got. The Montblanc William Faulkner...

I have 40 or 50 Montblanc limited editions collected over the last 30 years or so. Mostly writers editions. It is an addiction that I am very pleased to embrace!

Well done!!! I love some of the writers editions. Wish I had caught the Hemmingway at the time of its release. How about posting some more of yours .

Welcome to this new hobby! I also had a time had to buy the pens I saw from MB. It became a real addiction.

Don't start trying other nib-sizes. Than you will fall in a real big gap. Really hard to climb out of it

What a nice collection!!! I do like various nib sizes. One thing that can be done is to have the nib size changed by Montblanc. I like F and M the best. B is a bit large for me.

That one does stand out. They also offer the serpent in the Rouge et Noir pen as well.
