My new Patek Philippe split seconds chronograph!

That's right, boys and girls. I've got timepieces from Patek that allows for split seconds chronograph functionality - the ability to time two events simultaneously. No, it's not the 5004 or the 5204. I cannot afford either of those pieces.

So, instead, I present my innovative split seconds chronograph - dual face watch, yellow gold and platinum, both with silver dials. For the first event I click the top pusher on the platinum, and for the second event I click the top pusher on the yellow gold. Voila!

In fact, this "split seconds chronograph" of mine not only allows me to time two events at the same time... it's also a "perpetual calendar dual time" complication, which allows me to track the time/day/date/moonphase for TWO PLACES IN THE WORLD at the same time!

How 'bout that! Not even the 5004 or the 5204 can do that! Heh heh.

They will go to my two daughters!

And yet these two pieces are cheaper than some 5004s or 5204s I am seeing being sold out there! A real discount/value play!

For a second I thought this was an incoming thread for the 5204 that you had recently viewed....

You cant go wrong with those pristine 3970's that you have.

VC, that sure is a wonderful complicated timepiece for you! The two-tone fits you very well and I'm sure you'll find the double perpetual calendar mighty useful next time you go to a country who's timezone is set three years, seven months and nineteen days ahead of us!

As for the split-second chronograph, I believe your main problem will be starting those two chronographs at the very same time. Allow me to recommend you one of the brand new Carl's "split-second chronograph pushing device)!

...You may just have to use it the other way around though, that model would never understand what I wanted him to do with it...we did find a lot of water with that tool though!

P.S.: Very funny thread and amazing watches, you had me there for a second.

Since you posted this late in the evening I will just assume you were tired and forgot to mention that your dual advanced timepiece also allows you to track the phases of not one but two moons. You never know when we may acquire another.

Which means that your new Split second chronograph Perpetual Calendar is on par or better than the 6102.

Nice.

... the picture isn't so good or sharp, but it's telling that the cases for both J and P are really pretty flawless. I've looked at them through a loupe and they look fantastic. Of course I wear both of them at least once or twice a week so I'm sure some usage-related hairline swirls have gotten in there...

But they are much loved, much used pieces!

Beautiful pair of timepieces VC! How do you track the date and time of two places using a single split second chronograph?

The answer, of course, is that you CAN'T track the date and time of two places using a single split second chronograph like the 5004 or the 5204...!

But, with my awesome two-piece "split second chronograph" - you sure can!

As they should be.

I love those two watches and congrats on the newly found grand complication.

If you were forced to choose, which one would you like? The 3970 in platinum with a silver dial on the left?

Or the 3974 in yellow gold - perpetual calendar minute repeater!
