Second thoughts on the 5167
I recently bought a 5167 ( rubber strap) and am having second thoughts about it. It just doesn't seem to move me like my 5711. I don't think the rubber strap is as comfortable as the 5711. I do like the fact that it wears more casual. For those who have both , what are you thoughts and do you wear the 5167 to more casual outings?

I was thinking the same thing.. I really wanted the 5167 on bracelet and got one one rubber which I do love.. I really like a steel bracelet but $4k.. I could put anouther $2-$3k in and have a 5711..

I have both, and I do tend to wear the 5167 as a more casual watch. But hey, I have no problem wearing the 5167 as a more formal watch, even with the rubber strap.

Given that my wrist size changes frequently during the year I couldn't bring myself to get the one-time-cut 5167 but I do like the look.

This is exactly the reason why I got my 5167 on a SS. Much more versatile in my opinion.

I love my 5167 on rubber strap. It's incredibly comfortable to a point where it feels weightless. I tried on one with the bracelet and personally it looks ugly and feels uncomfortable. I have a 7 3/4" wrist btw.
The bracelet on the 5711 is much more sophisticated and more comfortable, though the bracelet feels a little flimsy compared to the one on the 5167. Try both the 5167 with the bracelet and your 5711 before you ditch your current watch. |

The 5167 is one of my all-time favorite pieces. I wear it with a suit just as much as with a t-shirt and jeans. Although I couldn't be happier with my Aquanaut, it sounds like it just may not be singing to you. No worries.....it occasionally happens to us all.
Perhaps it may be time to find it a new home? The 5167 has become very popular lately, so it shouldn't be to difficult to find it a new owner! |
