Picked up this sweet little gem today

And loving it!!!!

I’m gonna be honest, I started off in the watch world as a Rolex fanboy snob. Never would I dare wear a Seiko. Boy I was a dummy. Now a proud owner of two GS, a Seiko 5, and this amazing turtle. Found my dads old gold plated S3. Gonna rock it too although I’m not really a YG guy.

I see many more turtles in my future.

My favorite turtle. I was a Rolex guy for a very long time as well. These days I would rather wear a Seiko diver over a Rolex diver, I guess I have matured over the years.

Never tired of seeing pics of this model, as every pic shows the dial differently!

I don't know why i have been holding off on picking one of these up! May need to put an order in with 'Santa' for one of these with the Kanji datewheel.

Wish I got Kanji date. Do you have to order from Japan?

I believe it is only on the model number:

SBDY021 which is the Japanese model number.

From Gnomon's site:

"...denoted by the "MADE IN JAPAN" at 6 on the dial. The Prospex SBDY021 is similar to its sibling the SRPC91K1 but not without a subtle difference. The SBDY021 is a JDM model made available only in Japan. And comes with a selectable choice of English or Kanji date."

I must say, It compliments the Deep Blue nicely. Jokingly told my other half I was gonna sell the JC as I love this Seiko. She rolled her eyes told me I better give her the JC before selling it

Great compliment to the JC! Both are beauties, but seeing them side by side, I think I prefer the look of the STO!

Always a Rolex fan but recently I've been picking up the Seiko turtles. Great watches for peanuts. Love the STO special edition.

Great piece. I just got my first turtle, a STO from Bic Camera in Tokyo. I was amazed how much it wore smaller than my Samurai Blue Lagoon! I'm loving it, although on the rubber strap catches on a long sleeved shirt cuff!

I also picked up a GS sbgn007, but that's another story.

Believe all of the STO Turtles have PVD crowns. Can look SS based on lighting conditions.
