Can anyone help?

I recently had a Nautilus 3700 stolen from me. It was the only thing left to me when my father passed away. I can never replace the emotional value of the item, but having it on my wrist made me feel like he was still with me. Anyone have an AD connection who would actually sell me a modern Nautilus , I cant afford the grey prices and feel like I lost him all over. Sorry for the bummer post guys. Happy New year

So sorry to hear about this. I hope you are comforted by the good memories.

As to your question, I have no connections, so I can’t be of help, but the board is a friendly place.

why Can’t you afford the grey prices? If I was you I’d trade the new DayC black, YM 42 mm and possibly one of the few gold Dayona or AP’s you have... based on your collection you should be able to get a few 5711’s

That’s what I would do at least. Just giving you an alternative solution

Oh Happy new year

Man that a horrible thing to go through. The sentimental value can never be replaced and I completely understand your attachment.

Unfortunately I don’t have any connections. Best of
Luck to you and Happy New Year!

The YM I am selling the Daytona I've wanted for a long time. I guess when I say cant afford , I mean I dont want to lose 2 watches to pay an inflated price. But I get what your saying.

You have some serious PM pieces in your collection that you could sell to fund 5711.

However, I don't think replacing your dad's 3700 with a new 5711 will do anything to obviate the loss of the 3700

Yeah - might want to try to source another 3700. Prices are higher but not overpriced given they are vintage

Spot on and also bring along any supporting documentations to your AD.

So sorry to hear this. I don’t like to ask, but I hope it was insured? If so you can hopefully pick up another 3700.

If not, then as others have mentioned try to find a sympathetic AD. Give them the serial number of your watch so they can confirm with Patek it was in your ownership and has now been recorded as stolen.

Good luck.

Somewhat tangential, and apologies for the hijack, but does anyone know if insurance covers replacement value, market value, MSRP, or ... ?

If insurance covers market value than would OP be able to source one from a reseller?

The insurance policy covers for whatever you have agreed with insurer.

OP, Sorry to hear about your loss. If the piece is fully insured then surely a 3700 replacement like for like is the way to go.

I guess this is a good time to get out and review the policy for anyone who purchased an “in demand” watch, especially if that demand has grown substantially since initial acquisition. Many may now find themselves underinsured.

To the OP, sorry to hear about these unfortunate events. Hopefully your father’s watch will be recovered. Eventually it will need servicing and that’s probably your best opportunity to be reunited.
