2001 GMT II Coke

Just a quick one.
Found a gmt 2 coke dated 2001 16710.
When i was at my reputable dealer looking at a Hulk.

The gmt has a lot of nostalgia for me as was my first rolex and the one i had to let go years ago when hard times struck. I always said i would own another

Now for the questions. The watch is immaculate. I mean immaculate. Serviced last year at Rolex. Its priced competetively well and is stunning.
It has everything with the watch. All docs and cards and warranty from
The recent service. even for some reason has the outer cardboard sleeve but it dont have the actual wooden box.

What does everyone think?

Welcome!

Photo's are always recommended when asking advice about possible purchase.

Is it a 16710 or 126710....and what's the asking price?

If you are keen to have the watch, you can always buy the wooden box from fleabay.

Welcome to the forum.

Modern GMT reference numbers are 116710, or 126710. Prior to that from about 89-2007 the GMT reference was 16710, of which there could have been a red/black reference.

Sounds ideal if that's what you're looking for.
An authentic box can be purchased in the secondary market to make it complete.
Great watch. That was my first as well.

Im wondering what the feeling is for having no original box. There seens to be plenty of boxes online of some level of quality.
Is it a big no no to not have the box?
Surely the documentation is the key. A box is a box for me. Would prefer the original but its not there

Buy it!!! You can easily get a box. The papers are the most important part aside from the watch itself. As long as the bezel looks clean I’d jump on it! It’s a classic and in my opinion is a nicer color combo vs the Pepsi

The watch appears to have excellent credentials. You can pick up a box quite easily. I'm a hoarder, I keep everything. Not everyone does, some don't have the space. I'd be inclined to jump on this opportunity before someone else does.

I could find an original box in five minutes. I wouldn’t worry about the box. It’s the least important factor on this gmt.

You can always get the correct box, don’t let the watch slip away if you really want it.
Post up some pics once you get it!

I edited your thread title for the correct year.

Use the free online app https://imageresizer.com/ to resize the dealer's photos to 293 kilobytes or less to attach them to your posts.

Congrats.

Most computers can save a jpg or other file at both pixel size and file size to meet the software parameters. The forum doesn't resize large files.
