While I like it I think the dial looks a bit small and the bezel/insert correspondingly a bit too thick. All IMO!

Indeed. Compared to the original vintage PH1000, the bezel is a bit too thick on the top. I guess this is what you get when you reduce the height of the watch without shrinking the diameter to keep the original proportions.

I have both the orange ltd version and the original vintage PH1000. Both great watches and lots of fun for the bucks.
