Datejust issue please help!!!
Hello all I need a little help from the experts. My DJ is less than 2 years old and I went to put it on today to just enjoy the watch at home and stare at the beauty of the watch and I noticed the watch after a full wind and time set kept stoping and would not stay running. I attached a video. Please let me know what I can do at home or need to do to fix. I believe it is still under Warrenty only being 2 years. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it possible that I overwound the watch. I wound it about 40 turns

Cant overwind. Looks like it needs a service and if only two years old should be under warranty.

Thanks I have been wearing it for the last 30min and it finally started running on time. It has been sitting in case for about 2 weeks since last time I took it out.

I would bring it by your AD and discuss the issue. If it were me, I would call an RSC and send it in.
Could be something as simple as the hack lever not disengaging correctly due to a misaligned/out of spec Keyless works part. |

Yeah, that shouldn't happen on a 2-year-old watch. You need to send it to RSC with the original warranty card, and they'll take care of it as quickly as possible.

Ok so I just took it to the AD and they took it to the back and they said they think the watch has a screw or 2 loose on the inside somewhere but they are not sure without taking back off. They think I should send it in for Srv but they are telling me it is not under Warrenty. I bought the watch 2 years 4 months ago and the Warrenty card said 2 years. I know Rolex just changed there Warrenty period but I'm not sure if they will cover. I have only used the watch for about 20days and the rest of the time is is in there at of the time it is in the winder. They said they will call on Monday to see what Rolex says but I'm curious what you guys think. Would I have better luck calling the Rolex store in Chicago where I got it? Thanks in advance

I have found this to be the case with watches that have been sitting a while without the movement working. This is often the case with ETA movements like in Omegas and Breitlings. OP, After winding the watch 40 times, did you wear it throughout the day, or just set it back in your watch box? You'd need to wear it that day and be physically active with your arm for the watch to "get up to speed." Not sure how your AD could tell that a few screws were loose in your movement without taking the back off! Did they shake it and listened for rattling? Loose screws can be tightened, but screws that have worked themselves out of their holes can cause damage to other parts of the movement! Since your watch is now out of warranty, even by 4 months, an RSC service will cost you money. If you trust your AD watch smith, have him/her take a look inside to see if it is a simple fix, and do a timegrapher analysis to see if everything else is working ok! If you have your warranty card and the watch is just two years old, you should be fine. RSC (and correct me if I'm wrong guys) won't do anything to the watch that they'll charge you for without getting your approval, either prior to you sending it in (some ADs list a price range for service and you can approve it, then if it goes over they contact you before hand) or after they check out the watch. I would be shocked if they didn't fix it under warranty.

Hello all thanks for all the help. I was doing some research this morning and ran across this little bit of info. Has anyone verified that Rolex will add 1 extra year Warrenty to watches bought after July 1 2013. Is this true.

I'm 99.9% certain that RSC will not charge you to repair this! Send it with the original warranty card and they'll cover it.

Watch is under Warrenty. It does have a 3 year Warrenty from Rolex so that is good news. I'm sending it in ASAP. The AD wants $100 to ship it to RSC does that seem fair with shipping and insurance?

And you don't have to insured if it is covered under your personal jewelry policy (if you have one). It has to be sent registered and registered may insist upon insurance or provided with the cost of the registered mail . Do not make the mistake of sending it by any other means as it will be refused and return to you. When I did this mine came with the box or smashed and opened and fortunately with that watch.

Ok everyone I finally got my DJ back from RSC Dallas. I sent it I from my AD and it was covered under Warrenty. Question I have is why they do not put what was wrong with the watch on the paperwork? Can I call them to see what was wrong with the watch? Thanks

glad everything worked out for you. did your AD really charge you for shipping? i've owned over 20 rolexes and my AD never charged to ship anything in for service - even if i didn't buy one of the watches from them.
