Looks good next to my BB Pepsi

Any ideas from other Kermit experts to its condition? (I.e. it’s been polished/not polished) I can’t tell that well myself as I’m not fully familiar with what original lugs should look like!

This piece has been polished before. The bevels at the side of the lugs are gone... I have an unpolished one, I know how they looked like.

I just tried an LV on Yesterday and immediately fell in love, even my wife fell in love with it. For one thats used and not very clean and not flat four they were asking way too much $13-14k... passed.

All i know though it is Now on my list to get along with a Black GMT Master II and i'll be done with my Rolex list lol.

The chamfered edges are more obvious on 4 digits Rolex. Less on 5 digits watches. Many people have not seen or noticed the chamfered edge cos it’s hard to find an unpolished piece at this age. I’m the first owner of this Kermit, it’s a safe queen. It’s 100% unpolished and looks the same as the day it left the AD

Interesting... that’s very noticeable on ur watch.

I have a v-serial Kermit (purchased new AD and never polished) that has a straight edge and is not chamfered.

Would love to see more pics of urs.

Anyone else with chamfered lugs on their LV?

I find this strange, because there are numerous NOS 16610LV’s to be seen online, and none seem to have the lug chamfers as found on the earlier 5-digit “holes” midcases. The lug tips, however, should have an angled chamfer.

The 16610T “no holes” NOS midcases I’ve seen don’t seem to have chamfers. Perhaps there are exceptions to the rule, as they were hand finished so far as I understand.

Anyone else have experience with this?

I have never seen an 16610LV with so prominent chamfers. If you look on NOS 16610LV on sdwatches and others - they don't have it. Maybe this one 16610LV has been restored? When some Submariners come back from service from very reputable service centers here on the forum, they look spectacular. Even better sometimes when they were new.

Nope. My watch has not been refinished or restored. I have another NOS piece with full stickers intact, with the same chamfered edges. They looked prominent maybe because the shots were captured with macro lens.

That is interesting. Could you post some side by side pics of the two watches?

It’s not the macro shot

Ur lugs r different from every other LVs I have seen so far.
U either have one of a kind LV (two, actually, since u say u have two of these lol) or its been re-finished (unlikely since u say it was purchased new from AD)

Would love to see more pics of both LVs u have and the story behind it. How long have u had them? What serial? Which AD? Both from same AD? Thx

Here's a NOS 16610LV. No such chamfers.

https://www.sdwatches.com/product/ro...ary-green-nos/

Don't get fooled by the area between the stickers and the top of the lugs.

Here's another one: https://awadwatches.com/product/nos-...card-m-serial/

Does anybody have a stickered NOS 16610LV with chamfers? I have a few NOS but none with chamfers, however I am open to the possibility. Perhaps some Y serials?

Man if anybody wanted a good example of one of these and can swing it these prices are good. They cracked under $ 13,000.

Out for a walk. :) Important to use the 16610LV and not let it be a safe queen. Use it. Scratches and marks are OK. :)
