More guts than I have. You know PP advises if you submerge their watches in water you should have them pressure checked every year. Rolex does not suggest that. I will stick with Rolex when in the pool.

The upper river is actually relatively calm. The lower river as you know I’m sure is class 5+. There is a point we don’t go past as the coast guard basically says they won’t risk their lives helping you, which isn’t true those brave SOB will try to save anyone god bless them. Believe it or not I get more concerned crossing the mouth of the Niagara into Lake Erie under the peace bridge. Very choppy there always white knuckling it

Great shots !!!!!!!
So, we can agree on: 1) 5711 is too expensive for a pool watch 2) 5712 with its 60 meters - nobody trust in it ! 3) Gold Nautilus are too soft for Pools 4) Aquanaut is a cheap watch, the owners do not mind 5) the 5990 is the Boss in the water 6) all other Pateks are for indoor only |

The finish on a Patek case seem so absolutely mirror polish.
Has anyone found salt water to affect this? If you rinse it throughly with fresh water before letting it dry there shouldn’t be any adverse or hairline scratching as a result right? I’m going sailing next week in the Mediterranean and would love to take a swim with my 5167 when we throw down the anchor in some quiet little bay. Any people that have swam in salt water can attest?

You know, as a sidenote, I do wish Patek made divers watches.
I know it's not their thing (like Rolex), but I would love to see their interpretation. |
