40mm... for the ladies!!

I just stopped at a area deli to pick up some dinner. While I'm at the counter, the manager looks at my watch and says "nice watch, I didn't know they made it in a ladies size." I say no, it's the men's size, and tell him maybe he thought it was a Sub and the differences in the crystal can make it look smaller (Way more than he wanted to know).

So he just says, "hmm. Well I've never seen one on a lady before, but now that I do, it sure looks like a ladies size."

You can PM me for the restaurant name and location if you'd like to round up a lynch mob

I think as we see more women wearing men's watches, these sizes are going to be called "unisex."

Probably in the future men and women are going to be rubbing elbows in front of the display of watches. If you think certain models are hard to obtain, now we will have to compete with women on certain models.

Since women celebrities are sporting the Daytona, now I can see why there may be a shortage of these watches. Women want them too

Is this safe to say without being flamed?

SD=women's watch

DSSD=men's model

I'm not really a fan of a man's watch on a woman, I'll give Karis & Jen a pass as I have a feeling they don't wear comfortable shoes

A man's watch is a watch worn by a man.
A woman's watch is a watch worn by a woman.
Simple as that, regardless of the bloody size of the thing.

When will PEOPLE realise that?

I don't know why you keep insisting that 36mm is a ladies watch! Read David's response.

I think women or men should buy and wear the watch they like regardless of it's size. And remember what they say about opinions!!!

If I take my new 34mm Air King off, Mrs. Ten is going to wear it. When I brought it home, she commented "Oh, that's a perfect size for me!"

Of course, she doesn't realize that I'll just have to go out and get a larger Rolex. Careful what you wish for, dear!

Question? Why would a Woman want to wear a huge heavy clunky watch anyway? If I see a woman wearing Mens style clothing or mens jewelery it screams lesbian to me not fashion. How many guys here would wear Women's jewelery raise your hand....

Have you seen any of our lovely female members' wrist shots? "L" doesn't come to mind [not that there's anything wrong with it]. Size is relative to each and everyone of us. Wear what you want, looks best on you, and not what anyone else thinks.

36mm was the normal size for a mens dress watch, i think Rolex have introduced this size as a womans watch as they see that the market is moving to bigger watches for both men and women.

I have to agree with my wife on this one, anything over 34mm on a woman looks silly. A small petite watch looks great on a woman, unless your a 300lb. heifer.
