What's "Wrong" With Diamonds?

I see lots of posts from members who don't care for diamonds. That's fine, but I'm curious why? Mind sharing some details in a comment, if your response is "depends" or "other"?

Note, if it matters, I like diamonds on a watch face, and on some bezels.

Thanks for responding. Regarding the references for which you like diamonds, does it matter if ss, pm, or tt? Or is the divide pro vs. classic lines. Or just random? If you don't mind me asking?

Personal preference. I like them on many references. My philosophy is wear what you like regardless of other people’s tastes, value retention etc.

I like it on the DJ dial on mens and womens and also on the DD. some patek lines. It doesnt bother me on the professional lines but it needs to be a PM piece in that scenario.

Too much bling for me. There's a fine line between "tasteful" and "rapper" and everyone has a different opinion on where that line is.

I can appreciate diamonds on some references, but would never wear them.

I think it depends on the model and also the amount of diamonds. The DJ looks great with the addition of some sparkle.

I have always been a big fan of the SUB TT Serti dial. One Day.......

I'd agree it depends on the watch, but I have yet to see a watch I preferred with diamonds to a similar one without diamonds. I just don't like the look of them on a watch.

The diamonds in the round surrounds are kinda neat, I think.

It’s DJ 116200 with aftermarket diamond bezel.

Personally I don't like the look of diamonds or any gems on a man's watch. As hour markers they don't bother me too much. But nothing I would wear.

That being said, it's none of my business what you choose to wear.

They aren’t for me, but nothing wrong with them at all. IMO some references look better with diamonds than without .. aka Pt. Daytona

Too much bling for me. Not on a watch. Maybe ok for an earring if that's your sort of thing.

Diamond is associated with effeminacy.

Not unless you are like floyd mayweather or other celebrities who wants to flaunt their wealth by wearing iced/diamond stuffed watch.

If it's for you wear it.
My kids want me to get a diamond bezel, funny you mention this as it was literally brought up last night.
I don't really care for it.
No particular reason.
I guess certain watches can pull it off as others can't.
Not my cup of tea at the moment, but one can't force the future.
Like Grandma says "Never say Never".

Dig the looks of diamonds on some models. That DD Bas posted above is a beauty. Wife wears a 116231 with white diamond dial and the RG/TT/Diamonds work great together. I am just a Sub/GMT type of guy so dressier watches while I like the looks of... I just do not wear.
