Probably not an inside Rolex source. More likely someone who works at the print shop that did the catalogs. Or someone who went through the trash at the print shop.

Just woke up here Down Under to see that Mr.Stahl was bang on.
I think a few members here owe him an apology. |

Either way Rolex is not the secret society that its perceived to be. Rolex just got owned by RPR.

It’s called the five stages of grief. Denial is first and Anger is second. Acceptance is today.

You mean the forum elitists who laughed and called some of us names for making the sacrilegious mistake of entertaining the idea that RPR might be right? Fat chance. |

Kind of glad I did not open my mouth yesterday when I saw pictures of the new releases: they were so disappointing, I thought for sure he had to be wrong.

It was quite obvious that the leaks were real. We all knew it deep down inside. Everyone was in denial and calling it fake because we didn't want to believe that this was all that Rolex brought out for Basel World 2019

Uses the same dial as the blro too. Rolex can sell the same cookie with little change.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to make of it. I knew there was a possibility the initial leaked photos were real, and was hopeful they weren't, for the exact reasons you say. But it wasn't that black-and-white for me. For one, I actually did have trouble believing Rolex would use such mismatched hands on the YM42, and thought it was possible someone put together a really hacky rendering. I also began to question what was going on when Philipp then started putting out his own bogus mock-ups. So while I admit I had a sinking feeling in my stomach that the leaks might have been real, I wasn't convinced either way until the official press release hit.

I wonder if there would have been this much backlash if RPR didn't leak the info out early??

I also felt releasing private info only ONE day before Rolex would do it was in bad taste. If he does it again next year, there is no saying he is 100% right again. I would not bank on what he says. For Rolex, they have a bigger problem. They have a mole in their organization compromising sensitive info. I am quite sure they didnt want RPR making the new release announcement for them. |

Forgetting the moral aspect which we can argue forever, and I am against the leak, the quality of the picks was bad and hurt his brand and Rolex brand.
No one who is sane would release those bad photos to the world, it made the release look fake. This point has no argument, you cannot release bad shots. Who posts bad shots on Instagram or SM, it makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
