Sourcing this model is definitely more difficult now than ever before and unfortunately it will boil down to relationships you have with your AD and the corresponding wait times or lists. I don't think however its as difficult as getting the 5711 and 12 though . Fortunately enough, my AD was able to come through without too much of a wait.

Rockdrock - as others have mentioned in other threads, be patient, call around the many ADs (boutiques, ADs in large cities or Tiffany's may be tougher due to their client lists but the smaller ones you may find more success), find one that is willing to hear you out and work with you. The wait is well worth it. Good luck in your searches.

I would say the AP ROO lineup especially my 44RG, has a different wrist presence, louder and heftier on the wrist. The 5990 has good weight and looks classier.

Haha thank you Tom, the slight delay and requiring a flight out to pick it up was well worth it at the end. Your constant dose of pics kept me focus on the task at hand

Thank you all! It's been exactly a full week of ownership and loving it so far. No regrets of making the switch.

Love the dial and the different shades of grey it projects. In my opinion, the size and thickness of the case is perfect for me and my wrist. The bracelet is very comfortable.

Some say the pushers to adjust the travel time function can be easily accidentally pushed, I don’t believe so and I didn’t find it with the 5164 either.

The 5164a is definitely lighter and more discreet but I’m extremely happy I made the switch.

I’ll post some more pics and comments later.

Congrats! Something tells me I received a pic of this from a certain friend. Wear it in good health.
