Lost my Rolex in Hong Kong.
Bought my first Rolex two years into working full time. It was a secondhand Air-King 114234. I loved it so much and wore it every single day everywhere at work, important events etc. I know it's not a Submariner or diamond encrusted datejust but still pretty sad as the watch represented something to me.
Lost it in Hong Kong yesterday. Made a police report, asked building managers for help, made posters offering reward but the building won't allow me to post them so I'll just have to sit and wait. Think it's gone for good. Feeling sad as I'd invested so much meaning in it. Am a monogamous watch owner who only owns one watch at a time so this was mighty precious. Anyone else feel this way about their watches? Feels like the only way to move on is get a new watch. The thought is painful and somewhat exciting all at the same time. |

Sorry for the bad news. I guess it's pretty upsetting. I hope it turns up.

Sorry to hear this, also report it to a Rolex Service Center. Do you have all the info on the watch? It is a slim chance, but there is a lost and stolen registry that Rolex has.

Sorry to hear that. Don't give up hope just yet, HK folks are more honest than most when it comes to turning things in. Did you report the loss to RSC?

Sorry you lost your watch and hope it turns up. In the meantime you can start browsing the classifieds on here and see if something sparks your interest?

Yes. Got my serial number. Recently walked into RSC HK to get the strap adjusted. Decided against full servicing for now as I like my watch with me and I'll be in and out of HK the next few weeks. Looking back now, should have just serviced the dang thing.

I certainly hope so. It was two hours past when I realised the watch was not on my wrist. Whoever found it did not turn it in to building security so we'll see. Fingers crossed.

I'd be browsing the many used Rolex stores in HK...better deals, better selection, and OP can ask about his AK at the same time.

Would you suggest going to secondhand stores near where I lost it? I guess I can do more research about this. I saw an old post about good secondhand places in HK.

Kwai Chung? Hmm...I'm not all that familiar with that area...maybe someone else can chime in. Otherwise, just head over to Kwong Wah Street and the other places you will have seen in the old post. Was it this one? https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...2&postcount=24

Will visit Kwong Wah Street over the weekend. Will be visiting Rolex tonight to just browse and put a temporary salve on the pain of losing my AK. Losing this Rolex at a somewhat difficult time for me. When it rains, it just pours. |

Might be worth looking around here, too...it's not too far from where you lost the watch.

As Adam stated HK people are very honest and hopefully it turns up.
I forgot my iPhone on a bus and then phoned it later and the person who had it was waiting for me to call and come pick it up. Having said that, for someone like you who takes care and travels everywhere apparently with it, I don’t even want to guess as to why??? You would take your watch off in a bathroom in that area.....?? |

So sorry to hear that! That's awful.
What was the dial and bezel of your AK like. If you loved it, then maybe buy something with similar characteristics and it can live on in spirit. OR, appreciate the watch and memories and take a fresh look at all the new models. It can be exciting. After all, you still have all the memories. |

Not trying to kick a guy while he is down, but why did you take it off, in a public restroom of all places?
