Perhaps there is a lost property organization around that part of the world.
People who find things can turn the item into them for safe keeping until the owner is able to claim it.
Within a given period of time of course.

I lost my wallet and smart phone in Helsinki, Finland.
Both items were handed in and they tracked me down in no time flat by accessing my contact information on the phone.
In this case you would have to turn up and enquire with proof of ownership.

Good Luck with your search.

Thanks MinMay. Somehow this is really just the best takeaway. Hopefully I'll have a great update to finish up this thread. Off to look for a new watch because like I said, monogamous watch wearer.

From time to time, bad things happen. No one is immune, we just move on.

If you are interested, some good places to search for your next Rolex to start making new memories with:
1. Small mall on G/F of Yan On Building, 1 Kwong Wa Street, Mong Kok.
2. G/F of Sino Centre, 582-592 Nathan Rd, Mong Kok.
3. 2/F of CKE mall, 36 Nathan Road, TST

Good luck!

Sorry to hear, it must be painful. Hope by some miracle, you recover your watch. It's also necessary to report the loss to Rolex so they can keep track if it ever turn up for service.

Your experience sound a lot like my friend few years ago when he lost his Panerai, also in the restroom. More bizarrely, someone took it while he was in the toilet cubicle.

Really sorry to hear. Hope someone from your floor will turn it into the building manager.

Yes, agree with Old Expat Beast and look at second-hand or pawn shops in the area (Tsuen Wan) and also browse listings on carousell.

Sorry you lost the watch, If it doesn't show up in a week, I would just buy exactly the same watch, you will soon forget.

Sorry to hear this, I will take a look on the sales section on the FB in Hong Kong, will let you know if I find anything.

Beside Hong Kong, you may try your luck in the pawn shop from Macau. Good luck!

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Hope I'll find a great watch soon. Just doesn't feel right walking out of the house without a watch.

Don’t beat yourself up over not servicing it. These two events are not connected. I’m sorry about your watch, I hope it turns up. Definitely report it to RSC.

Someone took it off his wrist as he was in the toilet cubicle?

Never quite understood why people take off their rings and watches in restrooms. At home yes, there are countless stories about women taking off their rings and forgetting them. But watches??? Especially a Rolex, does anybody think splashing water on a Rolex is going to hurt it????

Sorry about your lost watch but forget it totally because it's never coming back. Just move on and replace it and stay careful!

These things can happen. A friend took off her Cartier diamond ring in a washroom at Munich convention center... Hope someone does turn in your watch.

That is a real bummer about your watch.

If you end up buying another, what are you looking at? Used Air King or something new?

I'm going to Kwong Wah Street Saturday morning to see if I can find any good secondhand deals. Something sporty like the Air King is perfect for everyday wear for me.

However, I've also had my eye on a rose gold datejust for years. Something like this perhaps. https://www.jomashop.com/rolex-watch...ctpage-nosto-1 It's a bit delicate but so pretty.

Whatever I buy I'll be wearing everyday (and never taking off!). Any thoughts?

Small update: just called RSC in HK to report my loss but they told me not necessary as I've already made a police report with serial number. Should I insist? Or it's all good?

Sorry to hear. HK locals mostly are not thieves so there is some chance you'll get your watch back, but I would keep expectations low
