2020 Calatravas?

Does anyone know anything about Patek’s rumored Calatrava releases later this year? I am guessing we will see various gold versions of the anniversary calatrava just released, maybe without the guilloche and with different dial colors? Just a stab in the dark.

Might see an update to the 5196 with a new movement. I would love to see Patek come out with a manual wind with a power reserve indicator and hacking seconds.

I wish to see more unique calatrava like the 5212.

Interesting question but I sense many people only care about the sports releases these days.

A 5196 with a modern, updated movement would be great!

My prediction is the 6007 model (normal production). May be in precious metal form and different colour.

I’d like to see an homage to 2526 with new movement and 37 size would be ideal.

A discussion with my friends - someone mentioned a Calatrava in steel with a rubber strap.

5196P with an updated larger movement and display back would be an absolute winner.

This is the right answer to me. The 5212 is perfection. Awaiting the calatrava releases is exciting and if they redo the 5196 with a new movement I think it would be a pretty big deal.

I would like to see a Calatrava like the 5522a, a bit bigger than standard in stainless or platinum. I understand and appreciate the traditional proportions of Patek, but a sub-40mm watch doesn’t fit my lifestyle or 8.25 inch wrist.

I have been looking to get a calatrava for a while, but I just prefer an open display on the movement, hopefully the rumors are true on the new calatravas.

Are we getting any new Calatravas this year, aside from the special edition and pilot versions? Clock is ticking and I’m still hoping...

would be odd to me if they did a price increase for the 5196 just to replace it a month or two later. but thats just my opinion based on nothing.

Based on percentage of firm’s production?
Current dealer discounting?
2nd hand values vs retail?
Place in brand’s heritage?

Also, while on one hand the 5212a is a calatrava and on another it isn’t, no one would argue that Patek can’t make a regular collection round watch that is a lot harder to get than an 11.59 or Cellini from an AD

The gold models are listed at $24,600 now. What about before?

Hopefully there will be some new Calatravas. I am glad I got my 5116G earlier this year as in my opinion the 36mm case with the hobnail bezel is a great size. Pure Patek DNA!

Based on current popularity versus the brands' sports models offerings.

I have no idea what kind of models will come, but there are huge rumors in Switzerland that a new line will come this year.

I asked both in the saloon and in my AD, and they smiled and said they cannot comment. I joked "Can you deny it if you cannot confirm it." and they burst out laughing.

Again, I have my eyes on the future for a 5196P, I have no idea what is in the horizon, but it is clear that they discontinued way too many Calatravas in March not to introduce a new line this year.

Maybe the new PP strategy is "let's make Calatrava's rare so no one can get one so that everyone will want one". It's called the Tried and Proven Nautilus Strategy.
