Bracelet Link Removal

I ordered the proper screwdriver from Rolex (through a AD) for removing links on a Sub C. Can anyone provide any additional advice for the actual screw removal process? I see some use steam to soften the loctite but was thinking I would run that link under hot water. Also I know I need three links removed so what's the best method to have the clasp centered? Obviously I could just make the links equal but still wanted to ask. Thanks in advance...
