I bought a Rally, it will be my first new Seiko since about 1990.

Love the design, very surprised they are limited to 500 pieces.

I just bought the rally racer. My first Seiko ever.

However, I think I just read the color block is the only one of the three that is limited? Hmm, maybe I should have bought that one.

BTW, only the Seiko website has any left. Sold out on Hoodinkee and Rowing Balzer's site.

They were sold out earlier today so must have held a couple back. The Rally and the Stripe are limited to 500 each and the Color Block is a special edition which sounds like it will continue to be available.

At least that's the way I read it.

They cost double the price of the Seiko Fives. But I guess they are limited editions and have more flair.

Hmmm....kinda preppy. Don't care for the branding.

I like the designs, but I really don’t like the branding on the dial.

I had the chance to buy one yesterday, but I didn't. Because they are trying to sell us a standard Seiko 5kx with a checkerboard bezel. If it had the checkerboard design on the dial as well, like the original rally diver had, of course. But I'm not buying that watch for a bezel. I got a Brian may red special, that dial is really nice.

It’s actually the other way around. The color block is the only one that is NOT limited. The checkerboard and zigzag are limited to 500 each. I picked up the latter last night.

I had no idea what rowing blazers was. These watches piqued my curiosity to Google it, and now that I have, my enthusiasm is curbed on both the brand and this collaboration.

Anybody that ordered direct from Seiko receive their watch yet?

I got an email saying it shipped, but I didn’t receive a tracking number and there haven’t been any additional updates.

I ordered direct from Seiko and got the same shipped message with no tracking number.

I recall the Seiko site had a message the day they went on sale saying shipping would be delayed by 14 days. I was surprised to see the shipped message so fast but am a little suspect since it hasn’t arrived and no tracking number. I’ll give it another week and then contact customer service.

I received mine as well, but similar to yours noticed something a little strange…a Spanish date wheel?!

All of the stock images from various websites had an English date wheel.

they are dual language date wheels, just keep turning the crown when setting the day and it'll roll over to english.

Not my cup of tea but I guess they are unique.

Yes! I noticed that right after I posted. Really strange. Clearly an MK1 error dial. I may flip this for a SS Daytona.

OK, this is embarrassing, but I need help. My Seiko 5 by Rowing Blazers is my first Seiko and I can't figure out how to wind it.

I googled it and I see a video of people saying to hold it in your hand and move it back and forth for a few minutes. I tried that and the seconds move briefly but then stop. I also tried manually winding it in first position and nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Shake it. Hold it in your hand and shake it a good 30-40 times....

like you're salting 10 servings of unseasoned mashed potatos.

Shake it like you're salting 10lbs of French Fries.... Go to town.

Don’t pull out the crown. Just wind it.

I shook it for at least three minutes straight and it ran for maybe 15 seconds and stopped

Also tried winding with crown in, about 40 times.

If you wound it clockwise without pulling out the crown 40 times, then it seems like there is a problem with the movement, sorry.

One can’t manually wind a seiko 5 movement. You need to rock it back and forth for a while, and maybe a bit longer for one that has been dormant

You can manually wind and hack the new Seiko 5 (4r36 movement) So he doesn't have to rock it back and forth.

Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware and just read that the upgrade was done in 2019. So no rocking back and forth!
