Is there an end game?

I find myself reflecting on when I first started collecting. It started when my dad gave me his 1970 Air King. From there it escalated to a Sub, then it got real after the first Daytona.

After many purchases, mistakes, and endless hours of coveting, the chase led me to these three. Each one fulfills a need: to travel, to be elegant, and to be complicated. Where does one go if leather or gold are not practical choices? Or is this how Jack would say, “as good as it gets”?. . .

I’ve found that there’s no end game. Too much is never enough.

Every now and then I wonder that too. Ive been fortunate enough to get a nice collection and I wonder what the next move will be. When there’s a new watch purchased, thoughts about the next one follow almost immediately. Occasionally I even wonder if I should just get out of the game and keep 1-2 watches. But a lot of these feelings and emotions are temporary so I just I tend to plan my moves slowly to avoid doing something impulsive that I might regret.

Cool trio....but yeah there is no end for true watch enthusiasts I'm afraid. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you. Enjoy in good health.

Great collection, but you are missing a beater watch. Or do you still have a Daytona?

I get not liking leather, I like my 5196 but rarely wear it. I purposely bought a time only strap watch since I knew I wouldn't wear it much so setting it would be much easier.

thank you for sharing. i find it interesting you ended up with 3 very similar watches, amazing though they are. i am definitely still on the "journey", but been pretty content with the dozen i have now for about a year.
although i do hope to end up with about only 5 (still a good amount of watches).
