Pulled the trigger on a SBGN005. I was going to wait for the release of SBGN021 but after seeing the image and price I gave it a pass. I do prefer the case design, thickness and the dial better on the SBGN005 and the price increase on the new models is definitely the final nail on the coffin for me. I will report back after I’ve worn it for a while. Here’s a obligatory wrist shot.

Thanks folks!
Its the second day I am wearing it, such a well executed watch. I have pulled out my loupe to look at the dial, hands and indexes truly impressive and blows a lot of more expensive watches out of the water in that regard. Since this is a Rolex forum I won't name names to avoid being flamed. One thing that does bother me though; with all the attention to details and innovations why is it Grand Seiko cannot put a bit of extra effort in their bracelets. I am talking about the fact that it has no micro adjustments like the Easy Link on my Rolex GMT Master or the sliding adjustment on my Submariner. It can't be that hard. I have long criticized the clasps on the old oyster bracelets. Although they worked fine like everyone said but I thought Rolex could do better then a cheap feeling tin can metal clasp on such a nice watch and they did.

Congrats! Owned it in 2019, sold it, then a few months ago, re-purchased the same model. Really enjoy wearing this watch.

I’m with you on the clasp - it’s pretty meh. One upside of the watch being as relatively small and light as it happens to be is a sized it generously…normally, I prefer snug above the wrist bone. With this one, the light weight helps make up for the lack of adjustability in the bracelet to some extent.

It also works well on leather/rubber/nato too. Wear yours in the best of health!
