Discontinued parts...sad and disappointed
I bought a Military issued chrono 7T27-7A20 back in late 90s as a proper watch for my college years. I even had it on on my wedding day. Unfortunately, it stopped running recently so I contacted the local service centre and the one in Japan to have it fixed.
It turned out that the movement was beyond repairs and that Seiko stopped making parts and the movement for this particular model. I am sad and disappointed to not be able to have it fixed for the sentimental values attached to it. Anyone got the same experience and/or know a secret place where we can get hold of Seiko vintage movements? To be specific, I think it's 775739. P.s. Seiko is probably not for passing it onto the next generations. Sent from my SM-N985F using Tapatalk |

Oh no that’s bad news! I have the same watch, military issued by Swedish Air Force. It’s running a little off and chrono not centered back to 12 when reset.
Maybe some other similar model had same movement to be used for spares? Please do let me know if you find a solution. |

Have you tried any independent repair places? I'm sure it's fixable. Seiko service centres are not very flexible.

This is real the biggest problem with Seiko. They weight support any watch after ten years - even those costing tens and even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Given the sentimental value, you might try buying a model with that movement on eBay and using it for parts. I do that when I need parts for vintage Seiko movements. Worth a try, anyway.

Thanks guys for the ideas. I'll try independent places and looking for parts in ebay.

I love the older Seiko Landmaster and Flightmaster. But I read Seiko won't / can't fix something like the crown tube which basically would turn the watch into a desk clock.
