Are there any independent watchmakers that still have rolex parts accounts? I hear people talk about them, but I'm not sure if they still actually exist.

I don't mean independents that have access to parts... just independents who can source directly from Rolex with an official parts account.

If you know if any, please give their names. This would be helpful for future reference.

Yes, there are independent watchmakers that can order parts directly from Rolex, unfortunately they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Rolex is making it very hard to keep parts accounts open for the independents.

Pretty sure Ds time in San Diego still does. I haven’t been there in a while but the definitely use to and do great work.

Watchworks in North Providence RI is an independent with not only a Rolex parts account, but also a Rolex tool account. Never knew there was an official tool account, but he has one. I believe he even lists some of this on his website.

With that out of the way he is excellent in restoration and service of not only rolex, but all high end time pieces. I have used him a dozen times to change dials, bezels, bracelets, and to service my entire collection. His pricing is very fair and his knowledge is unsurpassed.

Just an FYI I have no affiliation to him. I was referred to him and now refer others. He does sell/consign a very small amount of rare and one off time pieces along with more modern offerings.

Excel Time Service in Miami FL has a Rolex spare parts account. The owner, who I believe came from Switzerland, used to work for Rolex USA. Been in business for a long time, say about 2005 or so. His team appears to be well-trained, and they have been very knowledgeable and friendly thus far.

Nesbit's in Seattle has a Rolex Parts Account, and they do excellent work.

Nesbit’s say they are the only shop in PNW with Rolex parts account. Will not service 4 digit Rolexes as they can’t source parts from Rolex for them. Also have told me that Rolex will not provide parts for 226570 movements to any independent shop. I have had great experience with them servicing my old 16808 and 36 blue DJ. They returned all parts removed including old gaskets,rotor, and mainspring. Turnaround time was 4-5 weeks and they answer the phone. Highly recommend.

Find a watchmaker that replace the mainspring. A lot of watchmaker reused your old mainspring. According to rolex it should be replace because it has 25% chance that it will fail.

Apparently spare parts doesn't extend to stuff like the calendar discs and dials.

I've asked and independents aren't able to get these parts.

Royal Jewelers in Andover, MA has a parts account. They're a Tudor AD and their in-house watchmaker is an ex-Rolex guy.

Does this mean Rolex is no longer making/carrying parts for 4 digit models?
Or maybe RSC is the only service center that will work on vintage?

I visited him in January and he said that he has a Rolex parts account once again.
