ao-tameruni

Just placed an order for a Nakaya Ao-tameruni. The Ao-tameruni color has been discontinued. I was told it was discontinued because it is too difficult (expensive) to make. I suspect it is because it doesn't come out right. In any case, I ordered the Ao-tameruni color with rhodium clip and nib, BB nib.

Let's see what I get. I hate to buy things I can't see and touch. The modified nibs I've bought from Classic Fountain Pens have been so-so. It's tough to trust people nowadays. I'll expect to be disappointed and hope the emotional strategy works in my favor.

Awesome! I am jealous!

I know any of the lacquers are a difficult process and therefore so expensive.

Was it this one?

The first one looks like ao-tameruni, bluish-green. The second one, the heki-tameruni, was my second choice, except that I tend to avoid browns for some reason, and the heki-tameruni is green under brown or some such.

In any case, I ordered the Piccolo as I think it's easier to carry on your shirt pocket. Again, I'm in a defensive mode so I don't want to get too excited.

Oh, I also bought the gold-fish and the tadpole converters.

I like the Piccolo much better! You did well sir!

Those converters are a nice touch to an high end gorgeous pen.

I would get excited if I were you! If you don't like it you can sell it....

.... to me for 1/2 price!
