What to look for in a crocodile strap?

Just curious if there something that Differentiates a high quality crocodile strap verses a lower end strap. I know the tanning quality is a big factor, but what about grain patterns? Large or small scales?

All come from an aligátor.

I’ll say the backing Leather quality and stitching.

Crocodile is available, but not as durable as american alligator. The best straps are made by the best strap makers. I’m not being obtuse. You should choose a strap maker that has the best reputation and customer reviews. Expect to pay $200 or more for a quality alligator strap.

I have straps from The Strap Tailor and Dangerous9. Both provide a made to order service.
