From Rolex to Tudor
Hey guys , so I’m a big fan of Rolex. I currently own 2 variations of the modern submariner. One of the 116610LN and the other is the 116618LN. I’m looking to get a Tudor as my daily wearer to and from work. I’m looking at the Tudor black bay dark-79230dk which is pvd black. Anybody here own one of those and give their opinion on the pvd itself. Does it scratch up easily or is it pretty durable? Considering I run a logistical warehouse where I’ll be using my hands a lot digging through and opening up packages.

Franklin, I also made the journey from Rolex to Tudor, and Patek to Rolex before that.
Sorry, can't answer your pvd question but I'm sure you'll be happy with the Tudor. This might help: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=584083 Good luck! dP

Good thread. Thanks for sharing. At some point I’d like to jump to patek but with the way the market is today it’s a real stretch. Possibly in a year or so once the economy Goes down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was looking into buying this model as well and one of the AD employees had one and he did not recommend it. He said the black coating is coming off in several spots on the edges. I personally did not see the watch but I took his word for it and passed.
In any case DLC is better and DLC coated watches will not have these issues. |

I migrated as well. I owned 5 Rolex and various others; Tag, Omega etc.....
I sold all but 3 Rolex and have moved into collecting Tudor. So far over the past year this is my current Tudor Lineup... just waited 3 months for the Harrod’s which is the most recent gem. For those who don’t have a pile cash, Tudor’s are much easier to acquire. |

I got into Tudor a couple years ago. I have a back bay black with the ETA movement that gets the most wrist time out of any of my watches. I also just recently picked up a Tudor GMT and I love. You can’t go wrong with Tudor.

Agreed- I own 2 Tudors and the Black Bay ETA "Black Rose" gets the most wrist time by far. Nothing more than a few desk marks so far.

Now I want a black Tudor as well. Might save for one before the year ends.
