Icon9 When your AD nearly gives you a heart attack.

So I am on the hunt for the Rolex 126711CHNR 18K Two Tone/SS GMT Master II. I prefer the look to the yellow gold GMT and the green GMT hand kind of bugs me on the two tone yellow gold GMT. I know I can get a CHNR on the grey market for an up-charge, but I like trying my luck.

Called my AD and asked if she had it....she said "Yes!!! Let me go get it." She comes back.........it's the full ever-rose version, not the two tone (like 36 grand). While I was waiting for her to get it, my heart was pounding like....wow did I just get that lucky?

Such a buzz kill haha. Called a few others. One got one in and said it went to someone else who got lucky. Not a preferred customer.

One day it will be mine!

Pix because why not.

I had a similar experience but not to the same degree--I actually wanted to see the all rose gold watch in person, but not to buy (yet). I called my local AD and they said "oh we have the rose gold GMT but it's sold and shipping out after the weekend, but you are welcome to come and see it in person if that's all you need." I went after work and they pulled out the TT version in its coffin.

At any rate it was good to see the bezel and colors in person. Very sharp looking watch you will be happy once you find it! Good luck!

Have you asked your AD if they can order one for you?

Repeating myself here since this question went unanswered. The TT CHNR is a model that an AD can order without crazy allocation rules.

Have you specifically asked if you can order one?

I have 6 AD’s supposedly getting me one.
Still waiting.
Was offered the PM one but way too much for me now.

yeah I asked that and if I can put a deposit etc. None in NY here will budge and do that for me sadly.

I ordered one and had it in about six weeks. I wish I knew what to tell you to make it happen.

That's disappointing. Must be a difference in market size.

If you really want to go the AD route, keep trying and I’m sure you’ll find one! The search is a part of the fun, good luck!

two tones usually go for 5-10% discount at ADs, the CHNR craze is just because it is the new kid on the block. This time next year they should be readily available.

I also had a chance to buy the all everose and passed, as you did. Not because of price, however. The TT, to me, emboldens the bezel/dial and CL against the silver, as your photo shows. Hoping to acquire in a few weeks.

Always in the eye of the beholder....

From what I've been reading and seeing these aren't nearly as hard to get as some other new pieces.

I have to admit, I'm not into the 2 tone PM rose gold. But I'd buy it.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Please PM me if you have a dealer that has one and you are not interested in it. It would be my only gold watch and to me, it would be a grail. I just am so in love with the look of it. I tried other two tone models on last week (Blue sub, and GMT) and they were nice, but wow.....that CHNR two tone looks so classy!

Thanks again.

I would suggest you put down deposit to commit. You should be able to buy it. It’s a true beauty. I love my CHNR.cHNR is very special, the colors is really warm and that gold color blend into the steel nicely in some lightning and not flashy at all. It’s only shine when it needs to shine. Great choice!

I tried, but none of the AD's would take a deposit.

It is, as others have observed, relatively easy to come by. My AD who can't get a BLNR or new SS Pepsi, has already gotten one in. Personally, I'm on the fence about it: I like how it looks, but need to try one on in person to see if it is a keeper. Good luck with your search!

I think it's beautiful in person. The RG is more subtle than YG.

I agree, personally never been a big fan of two tone but when I saw that I immediately loved it
