382 hype: false or real?

From previous experience and example of other SE's, is the 382 craze real? Please give proof!

See secondary pricing for all the proof needed, lol. It's the only bronze option & demand far outpaces the very limited supply, no hype to be found. Wish I had one.

Ahmed, the fact that you are so crazy over this watch shows there is no hype about it. Your are the proof

Maybe it's because PAM's CEO or someone at PAM said this will be the only bronze watch they will ever make?

I believe it is the real deal

I have often been surprised at secondary market value of Panerai watches, but it seems that the values hold up over time. Even at the beginning of the recession, Panerai held their values (even inflated values) as good and often better than other brands. For instance, the Patek Nautilus line was selling at a premium similar to Panerai and they never rebounded.

I think the Bronzo will remain very collectible for the obvious reason of, so few that were created.

But the reason that really makes this model a winner is because it looks so different than (almost) all other Panerai Models. The PAM 305 and PAM 309 are similar, but the Bronze case and green dial are so unique to those "sister" styles as well as every other Panerai model ever made.

I have many collectible Panerai that the average Joe could not recognize a difference.

When you have a BRONZO on the wrist, everyone knows it is something special.

Just my opinion and thanks for reading!

Bruce

With every brand of watch you get one model that is special, one model that was only made in limited numbers and that attracts so much attention from collectors, enthusiasts, dealers wanting to jump on the band wagon and making a few thousand out of thin air and the people that want one so much but could never actually be in a position to own one. This is the one, I can't see the "hype" dying down for a long time either (unless Panerai do make another batch, which on reading some of the material kindly supplied by Lee Fei, I very much doubt)

Let's hope the 382 Bronzo remain special for a long time to come!

I'll post some pics of the overall package that came with the watch.

Ahmed,

Here goes the proof. Side by side comparison with another Submersible SE and why the PAM 382 Bronzo is extra special.

All pics open. I see what u mean, Lee! You don't wear it???
I think it will remain special. Although a few other brands did make beautiful watches out of bronze, but add the material to Panerai's collectibility and there u go... As far as figures, it will maintain the range of $26k this year, and possibly start going up slowly as years go by, especially the new unused ones. I would not mind the used patinated ones, as I'm sure others will, too, all the more beautiful (me being originally an antique furniture collector and love old things).

Just thought I can see what seems to be a one time removal plastic sheath on the case, that's why!
