Need help to authenticate - sorry for double posting

First of all, sorry for double posting, as I put the same post in the open discussion forum but found out later that probably this is the more appropriate one.

Hi, I am a newbie here and need some help in authenticating a watch I bought recently. Here are the pictures.

My question is that the caseback 1002 indicates a perpetual watch, but in fact this watch is a manual. The case has no ref no or serial (or they were polished off). I questioned the merchant whether the caseback was replaced or the movement was put into another case. However he assured me that the movement is original to the watch. I hold up my end of the deal and bought the watch anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TRF.....

I could be way of the mark here but I would have thought a '66 model would have been self winding, but if no serial no. is visible how is the watch being dated??

Below is a picture of a 63 6694, manual wind no hack. serial 9xx,xxx.

Was it sold as having a refinished dial?

No, the watch was sold as original dial. I did not date the watch before I buy it as I am a novice collector and sometimes forget to check all details. After a bit of research (I should have done it b4 hand) I tend to believe it is similar to one of those Oyster Lipton, Oyster Commander calibre 59 movement, fitted with a genuine Precison dial and a different case. Any opinion is more than welcome.
