Royal Oak serial number question
I just pulled the trigger on my first AP (15500st, black dial). It's from gray market as we don't have an AD in Finland anymore and as a new potential foreign customer all the European boutiques (and the few AD left) gave me an answer of 18 months to 3 years (on the black dial). I visited 7 boutiques/ADs (in UK, Germany, Sweden and France) and called/emailed the rest. Half of the boutiques/ADs just stated that "the list" is full.
My question is about the serial numbers. All the 15500sts I have seen had a serial number starting with the letter K. The watch that I bought (from a dealer in Monaco, and the watch is said to been bought from Italy) has a serial number starting with UL. Does this "UL" tell you something? I just registered the watch on AP web site and everything (including the warranty) seems to be OK. I'm just curious as all the others were K-series. |

Same question. Mine starts with PW, followed by numbers and then K at the end. Anyone?

It appears AP has gone to a random serial number system after K serial. This occurred sometime in Q4 2019. I purchased a ROC from an AD during this time and the serial number starts with LT.

When I extended my K serial number 15400 Black Dial the warranty extended to Aug 13, 2023. I presume that means it was put in service on Aug 13 of 2018. (I bought it about a year after that) But pretty clearly the K serial numbers were 2018s and the J serial numbers were just before that. Apparently their move to random numbers was in 2019.
