Waves in Dial!
For those who think the waves on dial of a 7118 is a feminine motif....The Seamaster has it....and Rolex boxes...

I think the waves on the 7118 add to its feminine appearance but its not the only thing.
Specifically, on their own website, Patek calls it "Ladies Automatic". Kind of a give away as to this whole unisex talk... I dont know if Omega has ever advertised the Seamaster in your picture as unisex or targeted specifically aimed at "ladies", but that watch has so many masculine design aspects |

I've never heard this. There's nothing feminine about that watch.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that )

I like the watch. Feminine or not.

Not sure I've ever heard the waves on a SMP 300M referred to as "feminine"
There's nothing ladylike about a Seamaster I don't know anything about the PP |

Huh? I don't think so. Nothing feminine about a 300M, Unless they start making it in 26 mm. Where did this come from?

TBH I don't like the waves on the Seamaster either, no matter if feminine or not. There the waves makes sense in terms of alluding to the watch being a diver.
Truth is the 7118 was launched and is marketed as a ladies watch. Many traditional Nautilus design elements are softened to make it appealing to the ladies. IMO these changes are for the worse, and I'd recommend 3800/5800 for a smaller Nautilus, no matter if for a girl or a guy. Of course there is nothing wrong if a guy prefers the 7118 over the more traditional Nautilus variants. But I don't think it is a great idea to get it as a consolation or cheaper alternative. |

I'm a huge fan of the waves, always have been did these watches. I was happy to see them return on this updated model, as part of the heritage.
First time I've heard them referred to this way. To me it's what helps make the Seamaster Professional what it is in my collection. Going back to the early '90s, it's become an icon. For those who dislike it there was a previous model without and the Planet Ocean does not have them. |

I also like 'em - so much so that I'm wearing a black one today, and should I see a white one come up at a good price I've been thinking of picking one of those up as well. They are very nice watches all the way around, regardless of what someone thinks about the pattern on the dial.

My Seamaster 300 is without waves only because I saw this model first.

The too deep waves for my taste kept me from buying a new one and went with an earlier model instead.

I have the 41.5 SMPc chronograph (no waves) and a SMP300M new (with waves) I like both. the chronograph has sub dials to take up some open ground on the dial, The 300M is right at home with the waves on the ceramic dial. THE reason I bought it. Ceramic bezel and dial match perfectly. The older model with lacquer dial is nice too. But waves add some texture. Girlish? I don't think so. Not in the least. My AT 41 has the teak dial, Is it supposed to be a ladies watch as well? I think not. But to each there own. I may let the right girl wear on occasion though?

Who thinks the waves are feminine? I never heard that before. That is just dumb. The Seamaster is about as masculine as any watch out there...it’s a man’s watch.

If I'm confident enough to wear a ladies watch (not referring to that Omega), I don't need to seek any stranger's affirmation of my watch choice in a forum. The fact that you opened multiple threads to seek some form of concurrence already shows your insecurity.
