Omega Speedmaster Co-Axial Racing Dials Vote: White or Black?

Just to update the thread. I ended up buying the white dial and am very happy with my choice

Great choice

Looks extra sharp on that strap. Something about white dial watches on black straps just really works. Congrats!

Thanks Mike!

It’s the cordura strap from the Dark Side of the Moon on deployant. I think it looks really good on this watch

What Wesley Snipes said.. Always bet on BLACK! The orange accents sends it over the top for the win!

This was a win-win situation, regardless to what you chose. After seeing the pictures of the Black version a member poster on page 1 it was more difficult for me to cast my vote.

That being said though, based on what's already in my collection and the desirability of a white dial Chronograph that has black accents / subdials is incredible and striking - I voted White dial.

Sounds like the White dial was the correct choice for you, so I'm glad that's what you went with! Enjoy in good health!

Congrats on the pickup, I really don’t think there was a wrong choice. I prefer this one in black by a hair, but since you already had it and moved on, white is probably the correct choice.

I really like the contrast of the white, but that’s because all that I own currently are black & blue dial watches.

Thank you

They're both great. I feel I made the right choice with a sea of black dials already in my collection.

I feel the same way. Glad I'm getting to try the white dial. I've learned my lesson with this watch though, it's fantastic and I will keep it in the collection whether I stick with the white or eventually switch back to black

That was basically the tipping point in my decision. I really like the black surround on the sub-dials.

Congrats! That looks amazing! My vote is for the white dial as well. Love the contrast. You did exactly what I imagined doing as well and adding that strap. Do you also have a DSOTM that you took that from, or did you procure one from Omega specifically for your Speedy Racing?

Edit to add - this is exactly what I want to do with a new sapphire sandwich - buy it on the bracelet then get the nylon strap that only comes on the hesalite version.

Thank you!

I do not have the DSOTM but when I previously had the black racing dial I bought the black codura strap, black alligator and grey alligator (for the GSTOM) as well as a SS deployant clasp. I bought them from a member here on the forum and got a pretty good deal on all of them. I really like these 44.25 co-axial speedmasters but I find the bracelet to be a bit uncomfortable and it adds a lot of weight to the watch and I struggle to find the right fit. I really like the way these watches look on OEM straps from the various SOTM line

Ok, this thread has worn me down with the pictures and discussion. I already own the black dial version of this watch and have stated how much I like it. Yesterday I had the opportunity to pick up the Speedmaster Racing with the white dial. I got the bracelet, OEM leather and a NATO strap. I have not taken it off since then. A very cool watch and a nice addition to my collection. It is very easy to justify when my fellow enablers help.

Congrats William! Both are excellent and honestly i could see myself doing the same eventually, i like the model that much!

I would like to add a moonphase (which was discussed in another thread) but i think the white and black racing dials are different enough that they can co-exist in a collection.

Enjoy

I have the white, but now thinking maybe I should get the black too. Since I already own the bracelet, I can save a few bucks and buy it on a strap.
