Once declared to purchase value we the poor U.K. consumer get hit with 20% VAT and then a bit more for customs handling. Depending on the watch and how it is declared, none or a bit of duty on the overall value.

Mine hasn't climbed the price ladder nearly as high as the white but I like Speedmasters and was without a blue dial watch. Got it early on when they could be found well under retail. It will forever remind us how different the world was in 2020, so much so the Olympics were postponed a year.

To be honest, I only learnt last week that there was a speedy Tokyo in panda! I accidentally stumbled upon it when looking for the Apollo 11 35th anniversary.... so I bit the market at the top price but hey... you only live once :)

How did you find out about the Tokyo speedy?

Great looking watch. I love this one most, but the blue is nice too and the silver/red rising sun really is a little different.

I read about them on one of the forums no doubt. They were actually announved in 2018 and I believe started showing up in early 2019. They sold a small number of full sets with all 5 color schemes. From the start, the white dial was the hot ticket.
