is this normal for an unlined shell cordovan strap?

just curious if i'm being too picky or if this is acceptable for a custom shell strap.

It looks like the ink has bled to the underside of the strap. Maybe the dye process just isn’t up to par.

Its on the inside and a strap is a disposable in the end of the day.
The hassle of returning it, shipping back and forth is not worth it I think.
In the same time this would probably the last time I ordered one from this company.

Agree, but it’s certainly worth contacting the seller. I’m sure they’d like to know.

My shell cordovan is from Atelier del Sur and does not look like that. I would say unacceptable. Also, while unlined, not a problem, it seems untreated. It will look worn out after few warm/sweaty days.
