Not particularly fast compared to some of the others shown - but we've had them at about 110 mph on the way to Vegas - just to see what it was like:

Pic of me on my Harley Sportster 883. Was all I could afford at the time, but man I really loved that bike. This picture is in front of Osaka Castle in Osaka, Japan. I toured all over Japan on that bike. That baby was fast too, but I got my butt kicked by most larger Harleys.

Most recently I bought a 1999 Harley Softail Nighttrain. Loved that bike too, but I had to sell it when I bought a bigger house.

The fastest I've ever gone was in a kayak.

"Why?", you might ask?

Believe it or not the Sportster was the original superbike. When it came out in 1957 it didn't have any competition for quite a while. Then in the late 6o's early 70's the Japaneese and Brits started to hit the scene hard and eventually left it in the dust.

It was a great bike to soup up in the day and still is. But then things were much more simple. Guys used to race them with alot of success due to their 900cc engine and small frame. I've even read stories of guys spinning the back wheen inside the rear tire.

My first bike was a 1969 XLH Sportster
