If the dial (forget the tiffany part) is genuine, then yes.

I wouldn't pay a premium for Tiffany though. Proving it's original without any paperwork is pretty much impossible.

If I was really good to identify (for sure and by myself) a genuine Tiffany dial, I'll buy it. But I'm not.

Without paperwork, can ANYONE identify a genuine one? (That wasn't meant to be rhetorical. I mean, is it even possible?)

I wouldn’t pay a premium, but would still consider the watch based on condition. Good luck!!

No idea sorry :(
I'd like to have such experience to identify a good one and I don't know if someone can do that.

I wouldn't buy a Tiffany dial even WITH proper papers. Way too expensive for what it is.

And I would especially avoid them without papers. Why? Even if there was no additional premium to the price, I'd be too worried that "Tiffany" was added later (faked) on a genuine dial, killing its value.

I think you hit it right on the nail there. I next the deal.

I had a 5712 1R with T dial with all the original packaging and everything, didn't really do much for me, flipped it in no time and took a slight loss

I would not agree with (some) others who state that this is not for them.... at a discount for damaged dial, I'm in!

I’d consider it, if the dial looked right. Love Tiffany myself.

Kind of like painting the white "Submariner" red on a regular old 1680? Hmm. Luckily you the buyer get to decide if you trust a watch to be genuine.

Perhaps, but that example would be easier to spot as a fake. You also have the issue of the correct serial-number range for a red 1680, so it wouldn't be as simple as just painting a white 1680 dial with red.

Sure, but my point is how to spot a fake 1680 red has been a topic on this forum for years. There have been enough fake/real examples to compare and folks can now spot them. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I don't see a high volume of fake/real Tiffany examples to compare. My opinion doesn't really matter here. I've handled enough of these over the years, I as a buyer have confidence in my watches.

Without the papers you probably buy a doctored or franked watch.

No, too many fake/doctored watch and/or papers. Not worth the premium.

Exactly, watches without papers must be fake or doctored.

Curious... why no premium for a Tiffany dial? Isn’t the tiny variations of text on dials a big part of what defines vintage Rolex?

Without original paperwork from Tiffany you can't prove its genuine. Very few are properly documented.

Start with this premise: All Tiffany dial Rolexes are fake.

Work your way up from there.
