NYC Trip Question

Hi, going to NYC on vacation this summer. Are there any particular vintage watch shops to visit? Or streets that have a bunch of vintage? Rolex is great, but I’m also interested in vintage Omegas, Hamilton’s and so on. Shops that know their stuff, and have the watches serviced and ready to go (priced accordingly, of course) are great; so are shops that just have an eclectic collection where they don’t necessarily know what they have.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

What you want to do is walk everywhere and do cool stuff! Tenement museum, highline, wtc, Hamilton. Museums. THE FOOD. Once you get through that, go to the diamond district, and check out some of the dealers. Closed fri me Saturday. Mon-thurs pretty much

The Diamond District does have a couple of good dealers, such as Classic Watch (Gai), but there are also some shady dealers there. Make sure you know what you're looking at and have done your homework.

I would also definitely visit Analog Shift at 135 E. 55. Very cool space with an excellent assortment of vintage watches, not just Rolex. The guys that work there are super nice and knowledgeable.

There is a guy called Savoy on 57th that has nice things but his prices are crackpipe. I brought him a nice 7021 a few years back and he couldn’t get his act together to make me a proper offer. It was odd since he had red subs and Paul Newmans in his window. Nice guys to talk with
