Is it ok to match a polished case w/brushed buckle?

Or it has to be both polished? Is there a purist kind of thing or No-Nos in PAMs with regards to the buckle and case combination? Or strap combination?

I know that in Rolex, some Purists will not tolerate a Pepsi in a formal attire; but a Coke, however, is acceptable for both formal and non formal attire.

Interested to hear your views.

Many luminors have a brushed crown protector with a polished case. So yes a brushed buckle goes well imho!

I think it really depends on the strap. I have both polished and brushed that I use with my 88. Personally, I would think a polished buckle would look funny on a vintage ammo strap. By the same token, a brushed buckle would look funny on my shark skin strap. I say get what you like.

I do it regularly. I also have match a torched buckle to a polished case.
