Thinking about Polar Explorer 2 (16570)
Lately I am really digging the 16570 polar Explorer 2's. They seem like an amazingly good value. I currently have the 39mm Explorer so it would be nice to have a white Explorer 2 to go with it.
I'd love to see some good wrist shots please, as well as general thoughts about this model. |

It's a classic. A truly rugged, functional, beautiful, do anything, go anywhere watch. I'd love to add one to my collection some day but already having the white dial 42mm version I think I would get the 40mm with black dial.

Thanks so much for the picture Ed! There's something about seeing your potential next watch in the same picture as your current watch. That's a great looking pair!

Archie luxury (whom I have a love hate relationship with) really loves the older explorer 2 watches. Here is a video were he compares it to the new 216570! He has SEVERAL videos on the 16570 if you do a quick search on youtube :)

I really love my polar 16570 to bits. The white face is such a delight to look at after wearing my other black faced Rolex watches.

Lovely.
I prefer the thick indices than the thin ones of earlier years

Very nice watch and very understated which may in part account for preowned sales prices when compared with some of the others Sports Rolex? Some good bargains on this watch if you hunt around!

I've overlooked this reference for years because I was so drawn to the orange hand on the 42 mm Explorer. After seeing a few in the wild I couldn't believe how nice they were. Plus I might be able to swing getting a white and a black one versus one of the newer models.
Looks like there are far more white ones for sale on the forum which I assume has to do with more white's were sold. Looks like on comparable models the white one costs a few bucks more. Is that accurate? Thanks all for your input...Great pictures! |

Thinking about Polar Explorer 2 (16570)
This was my first Rolex. Love everything about it. The crispness of the white dial is something else. Pardon the crappy phone pic. |

the explorer ii is hot and rare which is what makes it special.
but think about taking it off the bracelet and putting it on perlon or nato. i don't have good pictures with me but i had a few off IG. |

That was my first Rolex pick up and IMO the most comfortable and well balanced on my wrist. I currently have the 42mm (which I too like) but wears so much differently.

The big problem with the 16570... ... ... is that it's impossible to choose between white and black dial... and that leads to owning both
A North Flag would just about finish this collection off, eh? |

I've decided to tread on thin ice with my black one; going non-traditional... The polar is a great watch; I'm certain you'll be very happy with it if you decide to get it. I find they can be a little plain Jane which is both a good and a bad thing depending on perspective. I like mine a bit more dressy for daily wear. The normal oyster bracelet can go back on at anytime for a bit more rough encounters with the world.

Next to the Yachty the biggest bang for buck Rolex sports watch out there on the pre-owned market and a must for any collection.
I don't think prices in them will stay as low as they are for much longer. A lot of folk are jumping on the Rolex ownership bandwagon for lots of reasons and when it comes to buying the best value sports model they can find, the polar explorer is it! I must get one....soon! |
