Is perpetual calendar considered as dress watch?

I know that in strict sense that a dress watch needs to be a simple 3-hands watch in precious material and without any complication on a strap. However, is a traditional perpetual calendar can be considered as a dress watch (such as depicted as per below)?

Current collection: 1) Rolex Submariner(116610LV), 2) Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional(311.30.42.30.01.006), 3) Rolex GMT-Master II(126710BLNR), 4) Breitling B01 Navitimer 43(AB0138211B1A1)

I would have no issue wearing any of above watches to a black tie event. I have worn the 5327R to my sis' wedding.

Looks dressy to me.

The 1960s is long past, and fashion / horology has moved on since SIX DECADES ago. Just be mindful to avoid the outdated old fashion Trinity Trap and you'll do fine

I wouldn't call this a dress watch, although the dude is wearing a sports coat and dress shirt.

This is a sports watch in essence.

More like a dressy classic watch, not a dress watch strictly speaking, but who abides by these rules nowadays? I mean, I do to some extent (no sports watch with a suit) but I'm in a minority .

I’d consider it dressy enough to wear to a formal event

In my opinion, the defining part of a dress watch is the case.
Not the dial.
The Patek, Lange and VC, a dress watch.

The IWC in large pilots case, a sport watch.

I would say yes. Case shape, metal, and size are what define a dress watch for me, not complications.

Wear what you like, and what you see fit for the occasion.
I wear a Sub with a suit, and a Journe with shorts and T-shirt.
Just go with your feelings.

Strictly speaking, a watch should be simple and understated on a strap.

And slim - so can’t say a big thick complicated watch fits the bill.
