Both are beautiful, but if I'm being objective, there isn't a single element (besides prestige) in which the patek surpasses this day date, imo. Case design, bracelet design, bezel design, robustness, the day date wins in all categories, imo.

Patek rose gold > Rolex everrose. I'll send pictures between my 5980R vs 228235 olive later.

both stunning.

my vote was for the Patek, as it looks truly magical on this photo

I went with the Rolex, but it is very close with each being special in its own way. Almost not comparable.

This is a good point and I agree, the Rolex RG hue is a bit too pink, the hue of the Patek is IMO more aesthetically pleasing.

Is it possible to move this back to the Rolex section now? The Patek pulled ahead here in this subforum, it would be interesting to see more discussion in the larger concentration of users there if possible.

I’ll go with the third option.

Wow, what a close race.......however, at the end of the day, whether you picked Rolex or PP, you can't go wrong with either choice.

I think the DD40 is a better all around watch. But my wife can’t tell the different between that and a datejust lol. Obviously she’s a terrible human being. But it’s not a very unique design. I think based on the aesthetics the Patek wins.

I've had alot of watches over the years and I'd have to say the 5711r is probably my fave of all.

A good pic of it to match the great pic of the DD.

5711R hands down, though not based on the pics. I think pictures don’t do it justice. In person it is spectacular IMO.

I am always surprised with how many people in the general population have no idea what a Patek is, looks like or is valued at. Rolex is different as most seem to think that it is worth more in looks AND value than the Patek.

Maybe I need to stop hanging around decaying malls.

Patek - my favorite color is green but that is my least favorite shade of green.

I'm not sure if you could buy a 5711 right now especially it costs a premium in the grey market.......
