No aligator straps in California after 1/1/20 - PP dress watch straps?

My AD mentioned that they won't be able to sell the alligator skin straps after January 1 in California due to new legislation banning the sale.

Has anyone seen what kind of patek straps will be e.g. shipped with Calatravas or other dress watches in 2020?

I dont think its been announced yet but id say calf leather. There is a cool new product which is made from rubber (or plastic, cant remember) that looks like alligator but i doubt that would be the replacement

Fortunately the market is moving away from reptile straps anyways in terms of design. I too would assume calf.

The alligator industry is trying to get an injunction against the ban. I wonder if Patek will change course if the lawsuits are successful.

Apparently it's Ok to kill infant cows for leather straps but not adult alligators?
